about me
Hi there, I’m Antonio! As a designer, I specialize in fields like Healthcare and Genomics. I thrive in environments rich in data, uncertainty, and complex systems.
Born and raised in Costa Rica, I have a B. Eng. in Industrial Design and an MFA in Information Design and Data Visualization.
I am a peer-reviewed co-author of data visualization tools and design processes, published in notable journals like the Design Research Society.
I have mentored undergraduate and graduate students, as well as other non-design professionals who are seeking support in the UX and Data Visualization fields.
Currently, I am a Lead Product Designer at Flatiron Health, where I help turn raw data into consumable evidence to support new treatments and understand the lives of people with cancer.
I am based in the Washington, DC area, unless that is, I am enjoying a coffee and the heavy rain in Costa Rica.
